Volunteers at an animal shelter dressed up as a range of creatures for a fundraising walk.

A group set off from the Exotic Pet Refuge in Station Road, Deeping St James, for a 10-mile walk last Saturday.

They walked to the roundabout in Market Place, Market Deeping, and back again stopping at pubs and businesses to collect donations.

Fundraiser Toni James said it was too early to tell how much had been raised but it could be as much as £500.

She added: “We’ll use the money to fill the oil tanks for the winter. All our monkeys need heating and that costs quite a lot.”
