A trailer containing 16.5 tons of barley was stolen from a farm in South Witham last night (Monday)

Police are appealing for information after the trailer left on land off High Street, South Witham, was taken.

The thieves stole the green Bailey trailer, registration FX09 KUT, containing the grain.

Police said the offenders would have needed a tractor, or a similar vehicle to tow the trailer away and it would have taken a considerable amount of time.

The trailer is described as having some damage to the off-side front and rear corners and the rear-offside mud-flap was missing.

Anyone who may have witnessed this taking place, or with any information about the crime should call police on 101 as soon as possible.
