Two dancers from Bourne Grammar School described as role models are celebrating after achieving outstanding results in their ballet exams.
Having trained for years, Bourne to Dance students Felicity Mitchell, 16, and Lizzie Emery, 17, have both attained the highest level of achievement in their Royal Academy of Dance Ballet examinations.
Felicity and Lizzie, who both started their training at Bourne to Dance, were recently awarded distinctions at Grade 8 Ballet – an award that also presents them with 65 UCAS points.
Both girls have achieved distinctions at every level of ballet graded examination, and have accumulated an impressive 14 distinctions between them and 185 UCAS points each.
Bourne to Dance principal Denise Delieu, who has taught both girls from the beginning of their dance careers said: “Bourne to Dance is the only dance school in our region to offer the Grade 8 Ballet Award, so we are delighted to see Felicity and Lizzie gain top marks after all their efforts and hours of dance classes. We are very proud of them both.”
Miss Delieu said: “Both girls represent terrific role models for the other outstanding talent coming through the school and are an inspiration to younger age groups.”
