The pavement outside a takeaway has been cordoned off after a chimney stack fell from the roof of a building and landed on a car.
Police were called just before 8am this morning (Thursday) by a driver who said masonry had fallen from the roof of the building onto his car in Broad Street, Stamford.
The driver was not hurt but the pavement and part of the taxi rank outside the Zorba 4 takeaway has been cordoned off.
Lincolnshire County Council’s area highways manager Kevin Brumfield said: “Last night a chimney stack fell into the road in Broad Street as a result of the strong winds.
“We were informed of the incident by Lincolnshire Police and have promptly closed off this small section while Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue clear the debris.
“It will be reopened as soon as the area has been made safe.”
The road is open to traffic.
