TWO drivers stuck in flood water on the B1046 in Toft were rescued from their cars by firefighters on Saturday.
A fire crew from Papworth and a crew and rescue vehicle from Cambridge were called to two incidents of cars getting stuck in the flood water after heavy rain.
Firefighters first arrived on the scene at 7.40am and waded into the deep flood water to rescue a woman from a Mercedes-Benz.
A second person was rescued from their car just after 8am.
Station commander for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Julian Fountain said: “Don’t drive through standing water, as well as the water damaging your car, there may be hazards under the water you can’t see.
“If you see a sign to say that the road is closed due to flooding, remember the sign is there for a reason.”
