A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash on the road between Braunston and Tilton-on-the-Hill.
The collision occurred at about 8.20am yesterday (Monday) in Oakham Road, about 300 metres east of the junction with Launde Road, and involved a black Peugeot 107 and a blue Kawasaki motorcycle.
The driver of the car was seriously injured and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where she remains in a stable condition.
The motorcycle rider died at the scene but has not yet been formally identified.
Detective Constable Paul Bingham, who is investigating the incident, said: “The Peugeot was travelling from Tilton-on-the-Hill towards Oakham and the motorcyclist was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.
“We would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand to contact us. We would also like to speak to anyone who may have stopped at the scene and left before speaking to officers, as they may be able to assist with our enquiries.”
