Passengers will have to use temporary bus stops from Monday as building work on a new exchange begins.

Rutland County Council will start work on the new Oakham Bus Station in John Street next month.

While construction is under way, bus services travelling in and out of the town will either terminate outside the library in Catmos Street outside Timpson in High Street. The Oakham Hopper will start and finish from outside Tesco.

Ahead of the switch, the council has published a map at www.rutland.gov.uk which shows the proposed changes including five temporary bus stops outside Oakham Library.

The council hopes the new bus station will be open in spring next year.
