Travel agency staff are collecting presents to give to children who will be spending Christmas in hospital.
The Anglia Co-operative Travel teams in Market Deeping and Bourne hope to fill Santa’s suitcase with toys ready to deliver to the Amazon ward at Peterborough City Hospital.
Branch manager Sarah Mantle said: “This is the third year we have run the appeal and local people are always very generous with their support.
“For health and safety reasons we have to ask for donations of new toys, books and games – and with your help we can cheer up children who have to be in hospital over Christmas.”
Donations can be delivered to the shops in Abbey Road, Bourne, and The Precinct, Market Deeping, until December 19.
Zoe Wilkinson, play service co-ordinator at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We would like to thank the Anglia Co-operative Travel staff and customers who will contribute to Santa’s Suitcase in support of the Amazon ward again this year.
“It is great to know that those children unfortunate enough to be in hospital over Christmas will not miss out on opening presents and enjoying new toys. I know it will help them make the best of Christmas, even if they cannot be at home.”
