An arrest has been made after a three-vehicle crash near Eyebrook Reservoir which has left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

The incident took place at about 1pm yesterday (Wednesday) on the A6003 Uppingham Road.

A man was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry by Helimed with what police have described as serious injuries.

An eyewitness reported seeing the fire service cut a passenger free from one of the vehicles involved.

The road was blocked off between Caldecott and Rockingham while the emergency services were on the scene.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
