A pedestrian has been killed trying to cross the A1 near Wittering in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, May 25).
Emergency services were called to the accident at 1.47am this morning on the southbound carriageway of the A1 near Wittering.
Police Inspector Kieran Mylchreest said: “Emergency services were called to reports of a collision. I’m sorry to say that one person, a pedestrian, suffered fatal injuries.”
The road was closed at the junction with the A43 until 7am this morning with diversions put in place while police carried out investigations at the scene.
