Scooter rider seriously injured in crash in Great Casterton

A scooter rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a three vehicle crash in Great Casterton.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Toll Bar at about 10.40am on Saturday. Police released the information today (Friday) and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The rider was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham following the collision between a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a white Yamaha XC125 scooter and a grey BMW. He has since been discharged.

PC Vince Greenhill, who is investigating the incident, said: “The Mercedes van was reversing out of a side street into Toll Bar and the scooter rider was travelling along Toll Bar from the A6121 towards the B1081, the BMW was stationary at the time of the collision.

“If you were travelling along this road on Saturday morning and witnessed the collision or saw any of the vehicles beforehand please contact us.”
