A MAN will attempt an arduous coast to coast cycle as a tribute to his late wife.
Phil Archer’s wife Trish died of a brain tumour last November. Later this month Mr Archer, 57, from Uffington, will set out on the ‘Way of the Roses’ between Morcambe and Bridlington to raise money for Brain Tumour Action.
He will be joined on the 170-mile route by five friends: Barrie Brown, Stuart Morgan, John Hutchins, Al Salter and Ian Morgan. The men, who are all from Uffington, have been training hard and have so far raised £150 towards the cause.
Mr Archer said: “It’s a tough ride but we have been out every weekend to practice and I think we will be OK.
“A number of us have done long rides before, alongside Hadrian’s Wall and around the Isle of Arran, so we are prepared for the challenge.”
The group will attempt the route on the weekend of April 30 to May 1. If you would like to help Mr Archer’s cause, visit www.justgiving.com/Philip-Archer0.
