A HAPPY and interesting life led one woman to her 105th birthday.
Vera Fox-Browne, who lives at Braceborough Hall, celebrated the landmark achievement on Thursday last week.
She was brought up in Norfolk and lived in King’s Lynn before moving to Ryhall with her late husband George around the age of 20.
George was the headmaster at Ryhall School for 22 years, and also taught at the old Priory College in Stamford.
Her earliest memory is of Kaiser Wilhelm II coming to visit the King and watching the parade from her father’s shoulders.
Mrs Fox-Browne said: “I didn’t think I would get to be 105. I think the secret is to have a happy and interesting life.
“I played golf and tennis when I was younger and George and I used to go rowing on the Norfolk Broads. I loved walking and cycling.”
Mrs Fox-Browne has one daughter, Maureen, and a granddaughter, Alison.
