Visitors of all ages were entertained by a host of activities and stalls at a village fete at the weekend.
The annual Empingham Village Fete was held at Empingham Primary School on Saturday.
The fun included tethered rides in a hot air balloon, a performance by 17-piece band Corby Silver Band and a tug of war battle.
Children were kept entertained by a visit from members from Leicestershire Fire service, who brought along a fire engine, and Bourne Lions’ open-top bus rides.
There were also cream teas, a cake sale, barbecue, bouncy castle and plant and book sales.
The event was organised by the school’s parents’ and friends’ association. More than £1,500 was raised which will go towards the St Peter’s Church, Empingham and the school.
Committee member Julie-Anne Hutchinson said: “It was very busy compared to last year, and despite the weather, it was a very good day and all in the great British spirit. I would like to thank everyone who helped make it such a success.”
