Villagers came together at the weekend to enjoy a church festival.

More than 400 visitors turned out for the Preston Church Festival of Summer Flowers, which featured a performance by international cellist, Audrey Riley and classical guitarist, James Woodrow.

Visitors also enjoyed talks on the history of the church, strawberry and cream teas, and a range of flower decorations in the church.

The event, which was held across Saturday and Sunday, raised about £1,000, which will be put towards the renovation of the church organ.

Church warden Sheila Ervin said: “It was lovely having everyone from the village pull together.”
