Villagers vow to protect St John the Baptist Church

Have your say

Members of a historic church in Stibbington have banded together to help protect its charms for future generations.

The new committee of villagers, led by Canon William Burke, have vowed to maintain the fabric and buildings of St John the Baptist Church.

The church was mentioned in the Doomsday Book Survey of 1086 and was rebuilt as a chancel and simple nave in the middle of the 12th century. The Norman nave and chancel arch of this period remains.
