VISITORS turned out for the opening of an art and textile show at the weekend.

The U3A Textile and Art Group Exhibition opened at Rutland County Museum, in Oakham, on Saturday.

The exhibition is celebrating the 30th year of the University of the Third Age and will run until September 22.

U3As are self-help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operatives for older people who provide opportunities for their members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups. The displays at the museum include art, lace work and embroidery.

Entry is free and the museum is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. For more information visit www.eastmidlandsu3as.org.uk
