VOLUNTEERS for the Stamford, Bourne and Deepings branch of the National Childbirth Trust have been recognised for their hard work.

The branch has been shortlisted for two NCT Stars Awards - Fundraising Success of The Year and Bumps & Babies Group of The Year - and the relevant teams will attend a ceremony at the House of Lords later this month.

The branch has rejuvenated its Bumps and Babies group with a new name - Tiddlywinks - and an improved venue. The group now attracts 20-30 families a week, with regular talks from local services and businesses and an NCT breastfeeding counsellor in attendance. The Tiddlywinks team are Susanne Denton, Caroline Hartley and Rachel Bush.

The shortlisted Fundraising and Nearly New Sale team are: Claire Rowan, Annie Cooke, Sarah Stephen-Smith, Rachel Bush, Sally Midlen, Claudette Joint, Lucy Bateson, Kat Tuplin and Becky Amos.
