People can find out more about an event that will mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War via the launch of a new website.
Mobilisation takes place at Kendrew Barracks, in Cottesmore, on Sunday, June 15, from 10am to 6pm, and organisers Arts for Rutland have set up www.mobilisation.org.uk which will give access to a host of information about the day.
The event will feature live performances from local bands, choirs and orchestras, a series of displays from museums and collections, and an area where children can play games that were popular in 1914. Cadets from Rutland will be on parade and children from primary schools in the county will perform a specially commissioned set of songs titled Wildflower Meadows.
While the event has free entry and parking, due to the high demand already shown, priority access will be given to visitors who have downloaded a free ticket from the website or from a county library.
