WOMEN from Rippingale WI set out on a three-mile walk on Monday as part of a national keep fit challenge.
The group of 18 women did a circuit around the village to record an accumulative distance of 54 miles.
Other members of the group have been notching up the miles by themselves in the pool and on the road.
Rippingale WI committee member Margaret Ayres said: “It was really good because we had a really lovely evening for it.”
The ladies are attempting to walk a minimum of 209 miles, which is the distance from the UK’s first Women’s Institute in Llanfairpwll on Anglesey in North Wale to the Olympic Stadium, by Women’s Institute Day on September 16.
