ONE of the founders of a Rotary club has died.

He was one of the founding members of the Rotary Club of the Deepings in 1974 and was the club’s second president. He also acted as treasurer for 15 years, a role which he also took on for a number of other groups in the Deeping area.

Mr Hacking ran a successful house building firm, Fenland Estates, based in Deeping St James, from 1964 to 1979.

He also served in the RAF during the Second World War.

More recently he was a member of Burghley Probus Club and Deeping Probus. His main passion in life was golf and was an active member of Milton golf club near Peterborough.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Marjorie, children Paul and Cheryl, grandchildren Mark, Rachel, Sarah, Ben and Jo and great grandson Luke.
