A TEAM from RAF Wittering is joining in the Olympics excitement by signing up for a sports challenge for charity.

Cpl Lee Baddeley has put together a team of eight, who are called the Wittering Centurions, to take on the challenge, which involves each of the team members running and cycling 251.5km over two days – a total of 1,760km. They will then make it up to 2,012km in the gym.

The team aims to raise £2,012 for the RAF Benevolent Fund when they take on the challenge on May 30 and 31.

Cpl Baddeley said: “I decided to take part in the Gold Challenge as I wanted to push myself and my work colleagues.”

It is part of the Gold Challenge run in partnership with the British Olympic Association in which people take on Olympic sports for charity.
