THREE young boys took part in a soccer training session for the West Bromwich Albion under- eight shadow squad.

The session took place in Rothwell and Ciaran Dolby, from Stamford, Oliver Cox, from Oakham, and Kyle Bennett, from Uppingham, took part.

The boys, who are all aged eight, are members of the Football Development Schools Regional Academy and were given the opportunity to attend the session to put the skills they had learnt into real match situations.

Football Development School’s director Kristian Heames, who is also a youth coach for West Bromwich Albion, said: “By giving the youngsters a chance to play in team situations gives them the opportunity to use all of the skills and tactics they learn week in week out at the weekly academy sessions.

“We were very impressed with the attitude they showed.”
