Letter: Is this a ‘helpful’ council’s attitude?

We were unfortunately victims of the flash floods in Market Deeping on Thursday and have spent the day clearing up, going to the tip with what we could and trying to arrange collection of a carpet which we could not take in the car.

We were willing to pay the collection fee from SKDC but they will not collect unless the carpet is in a roll.

Has anyone ever achieved lifting a carpet that was 3 inches underwater in one piece and putting it in a roll?

So much for being a helpful council in stressful situations.
