DEEPING boss Tuncay Korkmaz insists there still more to come from his side after they completed a hat-trick of comfortable derby successes over their local rivals at the Abbey Lawn on Tuesday night.
Korkmaz's charges had ran in nine goals in their two previous victories over the Wakes and could easily have matched that amount in the latest installment between these two near neighbours.

Deeping created chances at will in an impressive attacking display and only some superb saves from home goalkeeper Aaron Bellairs denied them victory by a bigger margin.

And, although still rueing the dropped points in last week's goalless draw with Yaxley, Korkmaz believes his side are showing enough credentials to suggest that they will be in the final mix for honours.

Korkmaz said: "It was a good result and our attacking play was awesome at times, but I believe there is still more to come from us.

"We should have been more clinical. We have had a reasonable start with seven points from three games, but it's not as good as I expected because I thought we could win them all."

The Wakes handed a suprise debut to former Stamford striker Tony Battersby who had joined on loan from Corby to boost their injury-hit squad.

However, the one-time Lincoln City marksman was a virtual spectator in the opening period as Deeping dominated the contest.

They took a ninth minute lead when Danny Matson smashed a shot goalwards which deflected into the home net off Wakes defender Dane Harper.

Bellairs produced the first of many super stops after 14 minutes when he clawed away Sam Bettinson's header from a Matt Porter free-kick.

The lightning-quick Ryan Semple then showed the Bourne defence a clean of heels but, although he successfully rounded Bellairs, Harper got back to make a superb goalline clearance.

Semple curled a 30th minute free-kick against the post before Deeping doubled their lead a minute later when Harper was adjudged to have pushed Bettinson in the box and Lee Ellison converted the spot kick.

Rangers continued to create chances at will with Matson getting through on goal only to be denied by the brilliant Bellairs while David Burton-Jones floated a cross-cum-shot onto the crossbar.

Ellison and Mark Baines both brought the best out of Bellairs as the half drew to a close with Deeping in total control.

They took their foot of the gas a little after the break and Bourne come more into the contest as the game wore on.

Andy Toyne saw a 77th minute effort deflected onto the post which seemed to kick Deeping back into life.

They nearly added a third with four minutes remaining when Semple cut the Bourne defence open with a pacy run before teeing up Ellison whose low shot was well blocked by Bellairs who, like the rest of his team-mates, will probably be pleased to see the back of Rangers.
