BLACKSTONES boss Tony Lowther wants to bow out from the Lincoln Road helm in style by lifting the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Monday night.
Stones face local rivals Deeping Rangers in the final at Huntingdon Town in Lowther’s last match before he hands over the reins to current reserve boss Dave Bird.

And, with Deeping having already beaten Stones twice in the league this season, he h
opes to end his successful spell with victory over their rivals.

Lowther said: “It should be a really good game and I’m looking forward to it.

“It would be nice to finish on a high and to lift a trophy in the process.”

Deeping are also determined to sign off their season on a winning note to have some silverware to show for their campaign.

Boss Tuncay Korkmaz commented: “It should be a spicy match with it being a local derby.

“It is our last hope of a trophy this season so it’s a very important game for us.”

Stones’ Richard Challinor won’t be facing his old club as he is cup-tied.

l Former Stones and Deeping goalkeeper John Feetham was the hero for Yaxley on Monday in their Hunts Senior Cup penalty shoot-out victory over St Ives.

Feetham saved three spot kicks to help the Cuckoos to a 5-4 win after the match had ended 1-1 following extra-time.
