GREETHAM battled their way through to the third round of the Leicestershire County Cup on Sunday.
The windy conditions and muddy pitch were not conducive to good football, but Greetham did enough to progress.
They piled on the pressure from the outset and after several efforts Chris Gardner was on hand to score the first goal.
Shortly after a great run from Oliie McCann set up Tom Cooper who fought off two challenges only to see his effort hit the post.
Tom Caldicott was always a threat to the opposition's defence and his attempts were finally rewarded from a corner where he found himself unmarked to finish for Greetham's second.
Greetham's defence was again solid and, despite the visitors not giving up, they couldn't find a goal to get back into the game.
In the second half there were plenty of chances for Greetham to put the game safe, but it was left to Ben Easson who came on and, with almost his first touch, ran onto a ball from the midfield to finish and complete the scoring.
Will Rayner and Aaron Simpson played well and put in some excellent challenges to help keep a clean sheet.

UPPINGHAM Colts played their part in a creditable draw against the Weetabix League leaders in only their second game of the season.
Colts were up against a strong and a well-organised Kettering team who had a record of four wins and a draw before the game.
However, the result could have gone either way with both teams looking to take the initiative in every attack.
With better finishing from both teams there should have been many more goals but overall a draw was the fair result which will give Colts some confidence going into their next three games this month.
From the start both teams looked to attack with Colts going close on a few occasions through Stephen Bogle and Josh Cole.
There were numerous chances missed in the first half by both sides with Tom Roberts in Colts' goal showing a safe pair of hands.
Ise Lodge opened the scoring after the break with a simple tap-in from a few yards out, but Colts showed a good reaction to going behind and continued to push forward in search of an equaliser.
This came with 10 minutes left when Bogle made his way into the box and kept his composure to bring the scores level with a good finish.
Both sides pushed forward to look for the winner and, although there were again a number of chances created, the game finished level.
A much improved and spirited performance by Colts with every member of the squad playing their part in a terrific game between two well-matched teams.
Colts: Tom Roberts, Josh Cole, Jack Henshaw, Jake Thompson, Callum O'Berg, Jake Norton, Rob Carson, James Howe, Charlie Cliff, Cole O'Neill, Alex Ashwin, Zack Chamberlain, Stephen Bogle, Theo Brogan.
