MARKET Deeping's Rob Welbourn has won a gold medal at the Paralympics in Beijing.
Welbourn was part of Great Britain's 4x100m freestyle relay team which smashed the world record by seven seconds on their way to a gold medal.

The 21-year-old was part of a quartet that included Matt Walker, Graham Edmunds and David Roberts who won in 3.51.43.

Welbourn, who now competes for Lincoln Vulcans, had broken the European record in his heat of the 100m freestyle (S10) on Tuesday morning after swimming 54.57sec.
