Bourne trio take silver

A trio of Bourne Town Harrier girls secured a silver medal for the team at the Lincolnshire Cross Country Championships at Louth last weekend.

Ten Harriers raced for the team through the fog and over a muddy course on Sunday with the U13 team of Megan Ellison, Leah Clark and Molly Bennett claiming second place.

Megan was the first Harrier home taking second spot overall to claim a place in the Lincolnshire team to race at the inter-county championships at Birmingham in March.

Phil Galpin, Shaun Hill, Karen Clark, Beth Howells, Joe Howells, Dan Lawrence and Martin Clark also all ran superb times.

While most of the team were at Louth, Tim Wigley ran a 12k course at Wormwood Scrubs in Middlesex while Rich Lomas-Brown ran through Priory Park, St Neots, posting 45min 11sec for the 10k course.

On Saturday, a team of Harriers will travel to Cranwell for North Midlands League Cross Country, and on Sunday Harriers will race in the Frostbite League action.
