A brother and sister who are raising funds to help them compete at European triathlon events have set up a web page for donations.

Paul and Katy Johnson appealed for sponsorship in the Mercury in January.

They are both trying to raise money to travel to and compete in the European triathlon championships, which take place in Turkey in June.

Since the appeal more than £600 has been donated and the siblings have set up a page at www.crowdfunder.co.uk to make it easier for people to support them.

Paul, 23, of Main Road, Dunsby, said: “I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who’s donated already, with special mention to Guy Bell of Guy Bell Builders of Stamford and Brian Adcock of Matrix Events for their generous contributions.

“We’d also like to encourage people to keep donating to help us reach our target. Any donation no matter how small makes a huge difference to us.

“The money received will be spent primarily on flights, equipment transport and accommodation in Turkey, with another large portion going to the British Triathlon Federation for race entry and support.”

Paul and Katy, who lives in Tallington, need to raise £2,500.

If you would like to help them, visit their Crowdfunder page.
