A brother and sister are looking for sponsorship to help them compete in European triathlon competitions.

In June Paul and Katy Johnson both qualified for the European triathlon championships, which take place in Turkey in June.

Katy, 25, from Main Road, Tallington, took up the sport two-and-a-half years ago, while Paul, 23, from Main Road, Dunsby, started racing in 2011.

Both have excelled in the sport and are keen to push on and compete at the highest levels.

Paul, who works as a labourer, said: “My sister encouraged me to take up the sport. I did my first race out of curiosity and took a liking to it. I qualified on my third race.

“It is going to cost about £1,100 to race, which is going to sting quite a bit. So we are looking to raise money or get some sponsorship.”

Katy, who works as a sports coach at several primary schools, added: “It’s really good fun and it’s really nice to have a focus to keep fit and a reason to go out all the time.

“It’s sometimes hard to go out for a run when the weather is horrible but I love training and competing.”

If you would like to help, call Katy on 07933 779300 or e-mail johnson.tri@hotmail.co.uk
