Big hitters set tone

A MIXED Motley Crew and Bourne side played Ilkeston last Wednesday and were on the receiving end of some big hitting.

Lockhart with 112, and Hampton-Malene with 99, pushed the visitors to 279 despite Tom Patchett and Robbie Gow Kleinschmidt taking three wickets apiece.

In reply the home side reached 164 with David Christmas making 61.

On the Thursday the home side made 285 against Leicester Globetrotters with Ben Stroud hitting a fine 106 and Carl Wilson 58.

The hosts then restricted Leicester to 198 for 7 with Tom Patchett bagging another three wickets.

On their Cumbrian tour the Motleys beat Burneside, near Kendal in a Twenty20 match, and Great Corby in a 40 over match.
