SKIPPER Dave Brew battered four sixes and seven fours in an unbeaten 65 to help North Luffenham back into top spot in division three of the South Lincs and Border League on Saturday.

Luffenham’s target was just 86 after great all-round performance from their bowlers and Brew and company cruised to a 9 wicket victory against bottom side Burgh and District.

The entire bowling attack returned sensational figures including Adriaan Coetzer’s 1-9 off six overs, Abraham Coetzer’s 2-15 off seven, Robert Staniland’s 2-12 off 5.5 and Werner Van Rhyn’s 3-7 off 7.4 which would take some beating in any season.

Even the bowlers who didn’t take wickets were ruthlessly economical, with Brew shipping just three runs in six overs.

Once in bat, Luffenham wasted no time in killing off the game and returning to the top of the table.

Luffenham, now have a 14 point lead over second-placed Moulton Harrox. They face mid-table Blankney on Saturday.
