Burghley Park U9s beat North Luffenham in a top-of-the-table clash on Sunday.
Burghley were put into bat and Luffenham’s tight bowling made runs difficult to come by so it was vital not to lose wickets cheaply.
Openers Harry Lovell and Freddie Renton ensured their wickets remaining intact before Archie Dickie-Meadows pushed the score on with a top score of 18.
Oliver Jones and Tom O’Donovan showed great shot selection and Robert Williams and Edward Richardson helped Burghley on to a creditable 166.
Wickets fell early in Luffenham’s innings but Burghley remained focused until the end, with a fine catch from Thomas Dancy at mid off from the final ball of the day.
The scoreline may have flattered Burghley but they limited the home side to 130 to ensure the winning streak continued.
They now have a week to prepare for their match against Oakham.
