BURGHLEY Park Cricket Club will be taking part in the ECB Cricket Force 2011, which runs from April 8-10 this year.
The main event will take place on Saturday, April 9 from 10am with food and drinks available to all volunteers.
Burghley Park’s David Popple said: “We will be looking for volunteers to help spruce up and repair the listed pavilion, repair the sight screens, maintain the patio and seating areas along with various other jobs.
“A free t-shirt will be provided to all those that help out.”
He added: “This year we will continue to run our successful U9s, U15s and U17s teams and are still recruiting players for these teams.” The club will run junior coaching sessions on Sunday mornings (10am-midday) from the start of May.
Sessions will be open to members and non-members and along with the junior teams, will be coached by ECB Level 2 and 3 coaches.
Anyone wishing to take part should e-mail the club via firstname.lastname@example.org.
The team will also be playing more Sunday friendly fixtures this season, so players looking for social cricket will have the opportunity to play for the Burghley Lions on a Sundays in late July, August and early September. Contact Mike Baverstock at email@example.com for details.
Popple added: “Improvements have been made to the square thanks to the great success of Burghley Park’s annual Cricket Week in 2010 so we’re hoping for a successful 2011 season.”
