UPPINGHAM made it a hat-trick of wins against Rutland League rivals Market Overton this season with a comfortable win at Castle Hill yesterday.
A regular thorn in Marko’s side in 2012, Town have now completed a division one double over Market Overton as well as dumping the 2011 Rutland Twenty20 champions out of this year’s competition.
Uppingham won a rain-shortened 25-over game by 88 runs with the bulk of their runs coming from Jamie Richardson, who made 78 before falling caught-and-bowled to Paul Thwaites, and Mark Cox, who hit an unbeaten 84.
Uppingham finished on 207-3 in 25 overs, putting this season’s batting woes behind them to record their highest league score of 2012.
In reply Marko were bowled out for 119, losing their last six wickets for just 21 runs.
Ben Collins, who claimed 4 for 21 was the pick of Town’s bowlers.
