Uppingham beat Burton Latimer by 212 runs on Saturday in the Northants League Division 13.
Burton Latimer won the toss and put Uppingham, who only had 10 players, in to bat on a wicket which looked very green, but hard.
Uppingham’s openers got off to a steady start with Jamie Richardson and Andy Ashwin both scoring 30 plus, followed up by Tom Hubbard (24), Will Cropper (65), Alex Ashwin (30) and skipper Danny Dumford finising on 57 not out.
The highlight of Uppingham’s innnings was Scott Green playing all sorts of shots at the wicket, connecting with the reverse sweep and the switch hit in consecutive balls. Town finished on 284 for six.
In reply, Burton Latimer struggled to score runs but L. Yeomans (40) made the total look respectable, with Burton being bowled out for just 72 off 21 overs.
With the stand in skipper Danny Dumford only using four bowlers, it worked out that all of them picked up wickets and good figures, especially youngster Harry Wade who finished on 2-1-1-2.
