Bourne juniors begin nets training on Sunday

Bourne Cricket Club has announced the dates and times of the first juniors’ net sessions of the winter.

The first three sessions for the U9s (under 9 on August 31 last year) will take place on February 3, 24 and March 3 from 1.30 until 3pm each day.

Training sessions for U10s and U11s will be held on February 3, 10 and 24 from 3pm until 4.30pm.

Hard ball sessions will be introduced for the U10s and U11s and players should be prepared to play with the correct equipment.

Chairman Hedley Stroud said: “The club will provide pads, gloves and helmets but we do ask for everyone to have their own abdo protectors and suitable underwear in which to place it.”

All sessions take place at Witham Hall School and cost £2. Players should all have clean trainers.

The club also hopes to run an Easter training camp for the 10/11 age group to help the players make the transition to the hard ball.
