Five star players quit Deeping Rangers
Star players Ryan Semple, David Cobb, Danny Bircham and Mark Baines have quit Deeping Rangers following the change of first team management.
Only five players remain from the squad Tuncay Korkmaz guided to fourth place in the UCL premier division.
The Turk stepped down at the end of the campaign and has since joined UniBond League side Stamford. New boss Pat Rayment faces a massive rebuilding job.
He said: "We have only five players still at the club from last season. I have been very busy on the phone talking to players but I haven't signed anyone yet. I hope to bring in some new signings over the next week or so."
The only Rangers players still at the club from the 2008/09 campaign are Ben and Matt Porter, Michael Goode, Andy Ellis and Dave Burton-Jones.
It is no surprise to see prolific goalscoring wide man Semple leave the club - he was in big demand by higher level clubs and almost moved to Gainsborough Trinity at the end of last season after a superb season in which he netted 30 goals.
Bircham will need to be replaced in goal and Cobb will also leave a big gap in the squad after providing many assists last term. Ashley Stevens and Lee Ellison, who both notched double figure goal returns last season, have also moved on.
Rayment remains positive about his task ahead. "When players have been with a club a few years it is often best for them, and for the club, for them to move on to fresh surroundings," he said.
"It's a big rebuilding job for me, as it probably is for Tuncay at Stamford. The nice thing is players have been calling me because they are interested in playing for Deeping Rangers. A lot of them have not been talking about the financial side which is also nice. They are more interested in how ambitious we are at the club."
Rayment has been leaning on assistant manager Danny Hussey for his local knowledge about players. He is keen to give some of the promising reserves squad a first team opportunity. Lewis Leckie, Adam Cornell and Spencer Tinkler, who helped the reserves to a promotion and Ancaster Cup double, will all get their chance in pre-season games, Rayment promised.
He added: "We will be going for the title - we won't be aiming just to make the numbers up next season."
