Tim Palmer scored a hat-trick for Baston reservers and Josh Rimmington hit a double to seal an exciting 5-4 comeback win over PL United away in the PDFL Division Three on Saturday.

Within one minute from kick-off PL scored after a nice pass through to the 18 yard box created the chanced.

Baston’s equaliser came five minutes into the game with nice intricate play from Hayden Rice for Tim Palmer to finish it.

Palmer was in for his second goal of the game on 12 minutes.

On 30 minutes and the stroke of half time, PL managed to score out of nowhere to take a 3-2 lead into the break.

In the 53rd minute PL scored to take a two goal lead to swing the pressure back to Baston.

With changes and strategies being changed Baston chased the game.

The last 20 minutes of the game were action packed. In the 74th minute Palmer delivered a corner to the back stick for John Macleod to set-up Rimmington for a goal with his first touch of the game.

Three minutes later Palmer completed his hat-trick, scoring with a header despite having his back to goal.

The best goal of the game settled the match. Rimmington shot from 25 yards out and watched it to go into the top right of the goal to seal victory.

At the full time whistle it was a win for Baston 4-5.

Baston manager Shaun Dennis said: “I’m really ecstatic for the lads. All of them gave 110 percent. After the result last week they were determined to redeem themselves and all of them did. “Football is a team game, there are no individuals but a special mention must go to Tim. His attitude and performance has been fantastic.

Never giving less than 100 percent, not just goals but all round team play has inspired the team.”
