Blackstones’ inexperienced side failed to take their chances against Bugbrooke St Michaels and ended up losing 2-0.

Despite having 80 per cent of play in the UCL Division One match, Stones created opportunities but could not convert them.

The game changed in the 30th minute when Blackstones won a penalty.

Hoskiss’ effort struck the bar and came back into play but no-one could put it away.

Up until that point Bugbrooke looked as if they could be beaten but instead they seemed encouraged by the miss and pressurised Stones.

In the 35th minute they took the lead.

After the break, the game saw Stones pushing forward but again their lack of firepower in front of goal was their down fall.

In the 69th minute Bugbrooke increased their lead when a foul in the box saw them convert the spot kick to take a 2-0 lead.

Stones’ play now became disorganised and never looked as if it would recover.

Fagon in goal made some good saves throughout the game and was Blackstones’ man of the match.
