There is no stopping Bourne Town at the moment and on Saturday the Wakes won 2-1 away at Rushden and Higham United to move up the UCL Division One table.

Bourne’s fourth win on the trot, and sixth game unbeaten in a run of games dating back to November, moved them up three places in the league to 11th as they completed a double over the Lankies.

The travelling Wakes took the lead through Aaron Jesson on 40 minutes.

But Daryl Lawman converted a 53rd minute penalty to level the scores however just three minutes later Harley Williams netted the Wakes’ winner.

Bourne Town Reserves drew 2-2 at home to Rothwell Corinthians Reserves at the Abbey Lawn.

Both goals were scored by Jake Mason.

The game was a preview of this weekend’s match when the Wakes first team face Rothwell Corinthians at home. Kick off 3pm.
