It has been a week to forget for Bourne Town. Just days after beating Oakham United 5-0, they lost in the UCL Division One on Saturday and then were dumped out of the Lincs County Senior Trophy 2-1 by derby rivals Blackstones on Tuesday night.

Dan Evans opened the scoring for Blackstones after 43 minutes but their lead was short lived.

Bourne equalised just two minutes later on the stroke of half-time through Jake Mason.

The game looked like it was going to be decided by penalties but Matt Simpson scored for Blackstones in the last minute to send them through to the next round of the cup.

Bourne lost 3-0 at home to Potton United in the UCL Division One on Saturday.

The Wakes conceded three first half goals, with Gary Ansell-Carter making the breakthrough for The Royals in just the fifth minute and the doubling his tally 15 minutes later.

George Kiely put the nail in the host’s coffin four minutes before the break when he converted from a corner kick which was diverted back across goal in his direction by team mate Luke Harradine.

Henry Dunn had Bourne’s best chance in the second half but his effort was well saved by Craig Lewis in the Potton net.

Ansell-Carter could have made it a hat-trick, but after rounding keeper Brown Dan Mason got back to clear the danger.

Bourne: Alex Brown, Max Avory, Dan Wilson (Kieron Blanchard), Dan Smith, Dan Mason, Andy Moss, Henry Dunn (Tyler Sculthorpe), Sam Wilson, Jake Mason, Joe Moore-Papworth, James Zealand (Zak Munton).
