Bourne Town were kicked out of the Lincs Cup by Deeping Rangers on Tuesday night and now the club’s higher league rivals have poached their star striker Jezz Goldson-Williams.
Yesterday (Thursday), Goldson-Williams who is the top goal scorer in the UCL Division One with nine, left the club to join neighbours Deeping Rangers.
The young striker moved to Bourne with new manager Raffa Mazzarella in the summer and had been the bright spark in a mediocre start to the new season.
Deeping play one division above the Wakes in the UCL Premier and were in need of a striker after Ryan Oliver joined Spalding United earlier in the week.
A statement from Bourne Town’s website said: “Jezz decided to test himself at a higher level of football. We thank him for what he achieved in such a short time at the club. Good luck Jezz and your always welcome back at The Abbey Lawn”
Mazzarella said: “Want to wish Jezz Goldson-Williams all the best on his move to Deeping Rangers. Pleased for him but sad to see him depart.”
