Players from Stamford soccer school One Touch enjoyed a footballing day out in Doncaster at the weekend.
Boys from the under-9 and under-10 teams were offered the chance to pit their skills against sides representing Championship club Doncaster Rovers.
All four teams on display demonstrated their ability to pass the ball on the floor and play out from the back despite the wind.
Both matches were keenly contested over four periods and although the emphasis was on performance, One Touch were pleased to come away with positive results from their encounters.
Afterwards some of the boys and their parents watched the professionals at work, in Doncaster Rovers’ 2-2 draw with Barnsley in the Championship.
Glenn Vaughan, who runs One Touch, said: “The boys played some really good football and worked hard off the ball. They took lots out of the game and we got more positive feedback from a professional football club. Credit to all the lads.”
