Football coaches are hoping to unearth the next Andres Iniest or Xavi Hernadez at Uppingham.

Fiesta de Futbol, led by John Mulholland and Vicky Gallagher, is a celebration of the things that have made Spain the leading international footballing nation.

As well as a focus on close ball control under pressure and excellent technical ability, the pair aim to bring drills used by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid to their sessions.

Their 10 week programme runs on Monday evenings (6.30-7.30pm) indoors at Uppingham Community College from November 26 for six to 11-year-olds.

John said: “We are looking for players who already have a fairly high standard of play but are looking to improve their technique.

“We are also teaching a few phrases of Spanish.”
