Cottesmore Amateurs, who take on Ashby in their final match of the season on Saturday, plan to relaunch the club’s reserve and U18 sides.

With one game remaining in the Leicestershire Senior League, Cottesmore are already assured of a mid-table finish, and chairman Allan Westray plans to build on this success next season.

He said: “Following the introduction of a new management team at the start of the season, the club maintained a steady improvement and the second part of the season saw them pushing for a top six slot.

“Unfortunately, they fell just short of that target but nevertheless took vital points from teams that finished above them, which bodes well for the future.”

With the first team safely in the premier division again next season, Cottesmore plan to field a reserve side next year and to rebuild the youth side which, like the reserves, was put on hold when a fire caused damage at Rogues Park ahead of the 2011-12 season. The U18 side will play in the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League next season.

To support the sides, Amateurs are now looking for potential players and coaching staff, including reserve and U18 team managers, to contact them.

Barry Suggett (01572 757348) or first team managers Gary Drake (07857 072745) or Steve Duffy (07947 867623).

The club’s annual meeting is on Monday at Cottesmore Community Centre at 7pm.
