New signing Tom Waumsley make the perfect start to his Bourne career, scoring from the penalty spot as Bourne drew with promotion-chasing Bugbrooke St Michaels, on Saturday.

Waumsley put The Wakes ahead at the Abbey Lawn after just 13 minutes and Bourne held on to their lead until the break.

Two quick strikes in the space of 60 seconds, from Jamie Jollands and Ryan Waldock, put the visitors ahead early in the second half but Johnny Currall levelled for Bourne with eight minutes remaining to earn Bourne a point which keeps them on 10th spot in the United Counties League First Division.

Bourne were reduced to ten men when Seb Hood was dismissed for a second caution late on.

Bourne’s next match is at home to Raunds Town on Saturday.
