Daniels are on the road to Lynn this evening
Stamford take on King’s Lynn in the First round of the Doodson League Cup this evening.
The two sides currently sit second and third in the Evo-Stik League First Division South but with the sides due to meet in the league on New Year’s both managers are expected to rotate their squad players this evening.
Daniels boss Graham Drury said: “I do not want King’s Lynn to see how we might play in the league. The league is more important than the cup.”
He will also be keen for his players to come through unscathed ahead of a tough league match at Kettering Road on Saturday, when they face Belper Town, who ended Lynn’s two-year unbeaten home record last weekend.
The Daniels will be without Sam Mullarkey who left the club this week.
Mullarkey, who had scored six times for the Daniels this season, had lost his first team place and Drury added: “It’s never personal when a player is left out; it’s about what is right for the team.
“I asked Sam to go on loan but he’s taking a rest until after Christmas.”
Kick off at King’s Lynn this evening is at 7.45pm.
