Stamford AFC manager David Staff has warned his players to put their FA Cup adventure out of their minds and focus on the quest for Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division survival tonight (October 16).

The Daniels entertain fellow strugglers Stocksbridge Park Steels in a crunch league clash at the Vic Couzens Stadium (7.45pm) knowing that victory could catapult them out of the relegation zone.

And boss Staff is under no illusions about the significance of a third successive Premier Division home match.

He said: “The Stocksbridge game ranks as our most important fixture of the season so far.

“Success in the FA Cup is great for the club, but staying in this division is our priority.”

Stamford will entertain Conference North leaders Hednesford Town in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup on October 26.

The Midlands side overcame lower-level West Auckland on penalties in a third qualifying round replay last night (Tuesday) despite having two players sent off.
